GE Access Kit — braille & tactile stickers for appliances you already own

One sheet of the GE Access Kit: rows of clear adhesive stickers, each carrying a raised symbol paired with its braille word — power, start, cancel, off, pause, up, down, add, 30 seconds, express, time, pizza — beside columns of oven temperature numbers from 200 to 550 and short function labels like fan and reheat, a strip of long bar markers and small ring markers down the right edge, and a boxed set of six bold high-contrast markers in red, yellow, and black patterns near the bottom; colored footer bands divide the sheet into zones for microwave and toaster, air and water, laundry and dishwasher, and oven and cooktop.
One sheet of the kit. The stickers are transparent, so the appliance’s original labels show through for everyone else in the house — the braille and raised symbols sit on top for your fingers.

The verdict: Before you replace an appliance, try nineteen dollars. GE Appliances — the U.S. manufacturer leading on accessibility — sells an Access Kit of 450+ braille and tactile stickers covering 80 common settings across its ranges, washers, and dishwashers, designed to sit directly over the existing controls. The stickers are transparent, so sighted household members see the original labels right through them.

Honesty box: the kit is currently out of stock at its $19 price — it was reported out of stock in early 2025, and the October 2026 link audit found it still unavailable, so it isn’t buyable right now. Check GE’s listing for a restock before counting on it, and in the meantime the bump dots page is the same idea in generic form. Also coming: LG’s “Design for All” Comfort Kit line — braille stickers, tactile and high-contrast add-ons, including a tactile Microwave Touch Guide — shown at CES 2026 with several items announced for early 2026. U.S. retail availability was not confirmed in this research, so we list it as one to watch, not one to buy. And the Envision Accessible Products Hotline — free, staffed by blind and low-vision advisors, at (316) 252-2500 — will talk through appliance choices before you spend anything.

The blind-specific details

Works without sightYes — braille and raised tactile marks over the controls you already know by position. (If you don’t read braille, the tactile shapes still mark positions; bump dots remain the non-braille route.)
Setup without sighted helpPlacing 450 stickers over the right settings is a job most people will do faster with a sighted helper or a hotline call on day one; daily use after that is fully independent.
Why it mattersIt’s a mainstream manufacturer treating blind customers as customers — the standard this whole category page exists to reward.
