Roku (Streaming Stick 4K ~$50 / Ultra ~$100)
Roku (Streaming Stick 4K ~$50 / Ultra ~$100) — prices are longstanding list prices, unverified current.
The budget screen-reader-safe pick. Roku’s Screen Reader is system-wide text-to-speech, toggleable by pressing the star (Options) button four times — a shortcut you can do by pure touch — and it can be switched on at the first setup screen. The trade: Roku Voice search is the least conversational of the four (the say-the-title trick works, but weaker), and third-party apps’ speech support varies by developer. Solo setup: yes. Voice: press-to-talk. Pick it when a proven reader matters more than a clever assistant.
